Top 23 “Do Follow” Social Bookmarking Sites

Many people misunderstand the purpose of social bookmarking (from a niche marketing perspective) and think you get A TON of traffic by bookmarking all their pages…

In my opinion it’s a myth.

However, it does serve a very important purpose. Getting backlinks to your sites. Unfortunately Google does not count all backlinks because of the "no follow" rule. So, if you want your link to "count" (in Google) you want to spend your time setting up bookmarks with the sites that actually give you some "link love".

So, here’s a list of the Top 23 "Do Follow" Social Bookmarking Sites (by PageRank) that I came across that you can use for Social Linking purposes:

    How can you tell which book mark sites have the Do Follow. I agree most people have a misunderstanding how bookmarks work.
  • Social bookmarking sites can be a great way to build links. Just be sure to act responsibly when bookmarking your sites, you could get banned for abusing some SB sites.

  • Great list. Now I use an Onlywire plugin and so that every time I post something new, it gets submitted to most of these sites.

    Some weeks ago, I created a directory with follow / nofollow social bookmarking sites. There are no Pageranks mentioned, but you can filter the sites by direct and follow links.

  • I would add www.IPopU.com to that list, its a pretty big Social Bookmarking site with 15,000+ members, and tens of thousands of submissions already. Clean simple layout, easy navigation, quick and easy submissions.Many categories to suite a variety of niches across the net.

  • I have been using jumptags for the past couple of days. My jumptags are on page one and page two of google for some of my terms. It worked really quickly.

    Some of the most popular ones are here ). These sites are great for gettig direct traffic to your log. However may of them use no-follow tags. Hece they do not help you in improving your pagerank.

  • Thanks for a superb list! I just put on my X-ray glasses to check Digg (one of the largest bookmarking sites around) and the great news is that it's Do-Follow - at least for now. Hope it stays that way YiPeeee!!!

One thing that I'd suggest for the readers is that using a tool like Traffic Geyser (if you do video marketing) can cut down the time for getting your backlinks for your site. I believe all these sites are included in this powerful tool!

  • Great advise and the list is very handy. Social networking and bookmarking sites do work pretty well, if you use them properly. The idea is to use them constructively and not spam each one, for most people it becomes a lot of work to manage a lot of accounts.
