On occassion people ask me:

I don’t think I’m terribly smart nor successful (just ahead of some on the learning curve), so I don’t consider myself to have the experience to dish out a ton of great "success tips".

But, there are 2 Super Simple rules that I live by that I often tell people:

1. Find out what successful entrepreneurs do, and do what they do.
2. And conversely, see what unsuccessful marketers do online and AVOID doing what they do.

I can just hear it…

Sorry, that’s all I’ve got. No magic formula…

Why would you want to re-invent the wheel?

Anyway, what’s my point, you ask?

Simply that we all need to stop on occasion and think about these two things.

If you are truly interested in becoming successful online, I recommend that everybody do a simple exercise…

You can do this by:

• simply asking them questions (if they are approachable);
• paying attention to their marketing, instead of deleting their emails or hitting the "unsubscribe";
• reading what they have to say on their blogs and/or on forums;
• actually purchasing some of their stuff (and becoming a part of their post-sale marketing funnel);
• go to seminars…
• the list is endless. 

By the way, you could do similar things with any field or endeavor…

Unfortunately most people will never do this, and be stuck in a "rut" forever… finding problems and people to blame…
