On occassion people ask me:
I don’t think I’m terribly smart nor successful (just ahead of some on the learning curve), so I don’t consider myself to have the experience to dish out a ton of great "success tips".
But, there are 2 Super Simple rules that I live by that I often tell people:
- Find out what successful entrepreneurs do, and do what they do.
- And conversely, see what unsuccessful marketers do online and AVOID doing what they do.
I can just hear it…
Sorry, that’s all I’ve got. No magic formula…
Why would you want to re-invent the wheel?
Anyway, what’s my point, you ask?
Simply that we all need to stop on occasion and think about these two things.
If you are truly interested in becoming successful online, I recommend that everybody do a simple exercise…
You can do this by:
- simply asking them questions (if they are approachable);
- paying attention to their marketing, instead of deleting their emails or hitting the "unsubscribe";
- reading what they have to say on their blogs and/or on forums;
- actually purchasing some of their stuff (and becoming a part of their post-sale marketing funnel);
- go to seminars…
- the list is endless.
By the way, you could do similar things with any field or endeavor…
Unfortunately most people will never do this, and be stuck in a "rut" forever… finding problems and people to blame…

It is almost impossible (I say almost because some people will surprise you by how hard they will try to fail) to fail. :-)
Anyways that is my plan, and oh yeah…
I plan on buying more tools once I have earned enough money with my article marketing.

This is what works, but too often most people want some easy to do magic trick that will make it all easy. If it was that easy wouldn’t everyone be doing it?
Excellent advice, and this is what all the big positive thinkers, successful biz coaches will tell you as well.
Unfortunately, if you want to make it a business online, knowing all the internet marketing techniques is not enough to be successful and it certainly doesn’t mean you’ll make any sales. In fact, the “internet marketing” is just a small part of your business online.
The vast majority of webmasters and online entrepreneurs don’t know or simply ignore the most important aspects of a business online: strategy and crucial processes, how to attract the right attention from the right prospects, etc.. Lots of traffic to your website isn’t making your site a success if the visitors are not interested in your content and 99% of the visitors will click that little “x” in the top right corner after a few seconds.
If you do it right you don’t have to spend so much time on generating traffic…it will be done by others FOR you.
