5 Offline Methods To Generate Profitable Niche Ideas

Coming up with new Niche Ideas…

Whether you earn money selling affiliate products, creating AdSense sites or create your own products; finding new niches can be a very frustrating ordeal for many marketers.

But the truth is… it doesn’t have to be.

One of the easiest ways to find new niches is to practice "alert living". But in order to practice this, you must "be ready" at all times and have a pen and paper (preferably a small notebook) with you at all times.

This way you won’t forget your next great idea… Start writing things down as soon as you "discover" them or you stand to lose A LOT of money.

In any event, what do I mean by Alert Living?

Here are a few things:

1.  Your Immediate Surroundings

Learn how to look at things around you with "fresh eyes".

Try this quick exercise: take a moment and look around you. Start writing down any idea (or keywords) that you see around you.

I can guarantee you could come up with at least half a dozen new niche / keyword ideas in 5 minutes or less.

Even if you don’t think it would be a profitable idea, just write them down.

2. Friends and Family

Start paying attention to what your friends, family, co-workers are talking about on a day to day basis.

Or simply ask them what they generally search for when they go online. What they tell you might surprise you and can be extremely profitable.

3. This one is basic, but many don’t do this: write down your interests, hobbies, favorite music, books, travel destinations, movies, passions etc.

What about your husband, parents, kids, friends’ interests? Write them down.

4. Television

Do you watch TV? There are a ton of niches to be found on TV. It could be TV shows, actors / actresses, commercials, infomercials, TV hosts etc.

5. Magazines and Newspapers

I know, this is another "common" method. But believe me, this is a niche idea goldmine. Pay attention to the various niche related magazines, particularly the advertisements running in them…

OK, so what do you do with your new-found list of niche ideas / keywords?

Simply run it through your favorite keyword research tools to find "profitable" keywords.

I will be covering the exact steps I use to mine your new list for profitable niches in an upcoming video.

You are right about asking your friends and family. It’s strange what people search for. I starting noticing more and more niches as I watched my daughter and wife search. I spend my time looking for marketing information and reading blogs. They search for real things. It opened my eyes.

    It’s interesting isn’t it?

I would have never come across some of my most profitable niches by doing “traditional” niche research.

So I’ve made it a habit to ask everybody. :)

    Hi

I could do with some help and guidance.

I’m completely confused about what to do around niches.

On the one hand all I hear about is to create something around my passion… which happens to be philosophy and psychology (I’m not trained in these areas I just love them.

The alternative seems to be focusing on any niche that fulfills certain criteria. Enough seraches, demand and so on.

So, what do I do? Go with my passion or find a niche that ticks all the boxes?

    Best wishes

    Steve
    p.s. love the blog
