8 Unique Ways to Make Money Through Social Media Networks

Did you know that you could get paid good money by leveraging Social Media Networks?

Until about four or five months ago I was completely oblivious to this fact… However, I’ve done my research and found some very interesting ways to earn extra money online. Below are eight unique ways to make money through the power of web 2.0 and social media networks.

I’ve listed these in alphabetical order:

1. Associated Content

Associated Content allows you to earn money by publishing original content (articles, audio, images and video). AC will review your content before they pay you and may take up to 2 weeks before it goes through the reviewing process. You can get paid anywhere between $3 to $20 for content, and they offer a performance bonus where they pay $1.50 per thousand page views.

P.S. You must be a US citizen or a legal resident to submit content to AC.

2. Break.com

Get paid by submitting original videos, pictures and short films to Break.com. Break has a community of over 13 million people and is one of the first sites to pay users to upload original content.  Once your video is uploaded, they review each video (believe it or not, they have moderators that do this). Once accepted you will receive a notification and get paid. Their payments range anywhere from: $25 for a single picture, up to $2000 for a video.

3. Metacafe

Metacafe is a very popular video site that gets over 1 million unique visitors a day with over 400 million videos viewed every single month.

They offer a program called Producer Rewards™ Program where they will “license” your video and pay you per “thousand views”. What do they pay? They pay you $5 per thousand views, however before they send you your payment, your video must get over 20,000 views, AND get a viewer rating of “3.0”. They have specific content requirements and you MUST own the rights to the video you submit. P.S. The top earner with Metacafe has earned $30,288 at the time of this writing!

4. PayPerPost

PayPerPost has been quite controversial in the blogosphere and was bashed by many A-list bloggers due to its business model (for more on this, you may want to read John Reese’s interesting post on Income.com Blog).

In any event, PayPerPost is a service where you get paid to post an advertisement on your own blog. You can search from all kinds of advertisement opportunities, then select the one you want and write a post on your blog (within the advertiser requirements). Before getting started, you will need to get your blog approved by PayPerPost and once you post the advertisement they will review the post for approval.

P.S. You are required to disclose that your post is an advertisement, either in the post or as part of a disclosure policy on your blog.

5. ReviewME

ReviewMe is a service that is very similar to PayPerPost, where you get paid to review products on your own blog. They are a bit “looser” with their policies than PPP, but do have specific guidelines that you have to follow.

6. Revver

Revver allows you to upload your own videos, and every time someone views your video by going to Revver or by you sharing the uploaded video with others, you get paid 50%! How does it work? Well, Revver actually matches your video with a targeted advertisement. The more someone sees the video the more you make. Also, if you share other people’s videos, you will earn 20% of the ad revenue.

P.S. You will not get paid until you have reached $20 in earnings.

7. Squidoo

Squidoo is a platform where users can set up a single page on a single topic that they may be passionate about (it’s sort of like a mini blog). Squidoo is what some call a “Social Networking” site, which is a part of the growing web 2.0 trend, and is extremely well liked by Google for the time being.

Squidoo will display ads on your "lense" (their term for your page) and share the revenue with you 50/50. You also have the option to donate your revenue (or a percentage thereof) to a charity of your choice (they offer a big list of charities for you to support).

P.S. If you are not using Squidoo as part of your Affiliate Marketing strategy, you NEED to start doing this now!

8. The VideoSense

VideoSense allows you to create your own video sharing site for free. The best part is you can share your own videos or other people’s videos! VideoSense will display ads on your site, and if people click on the ads you will share the revenue 50/50 with them. So, once you’ve signed up, all you need to concentrate on is to get videos on your sites and start getting traffic to it…

Well, there you have it folks! My list of eight sites you can use to generate more income by sharing content on various networks (including your own).
