The Death Of Article Marketing (or is it the death of EzineArticles)?

By Steven · Monday, October 26th, 2009 · 4 Comments »

You know, there’s been a lot of talk on various forums about some of the changes happening over at EzineArticles.com and how it will affect Article Marketers or Bum Marketers as they are also called.

If you’re not familiar with what Chris Knight is looking for in new articles, read this post by Chris: http://blog.ezinearticles.com/2009/10/from-my-desk-to-yours-3.html

He also sent out an email today where he said:

Get this: Over 142,000 articles are currently in “Problem Status.” Of those, 41% are under 399 words. Compare that to those that are over 750+ words which account for 1-2% of the total. That means you can significantly increase your chances of having your article accepted purely by increasing your word count to the 400+ range. Watch for a full blog post this week with the details on this internal stats study.

While I for one think it’s a good thing that Chris is increasing the quality standard of the articles, many think it’s the “death of Bum Marketing” and EzineArticles.com as we know it.

I wouldn’t necessarily go that far since there are several quality options available for article marketers. Travis, Mr. Bum Marketing himself, created a video addressing this and now recommend ArticleBase.com as an option: Read the rest of this entry »

Learn Copywriting From Jay Abraham (Jay Abraham’s School of Copywriting)

I recently came across a series of videos by Jay Abraham where had discusses a cool way to use Amazon.com for copywriting.

The Google Caffeine Effect - I think Google is officially whacked!

By Steven · Saturday, August 22nd, 2009 · 3 Comments »

huh

Google is doing something weird… not sure if it is an early implementation of some of the Google Caffeine stuff, but…

…earlier today I was cleaning up a ton of keywords that I had done research for last month before sending them off to a couple of my writers. While going through my research I noticed some interesting discrepancies in the Google results. Let me explain.

For instance, in July, the phrase:

‘how to tone your stomach’ - had a traffic volume of 3600 searches (phrase match); All In Title search result of 171; and a phrase match result of 6230.

Today, the results were somewhat different, with a traffic volume of 2900 (which is fine); all in title results of 105,000 (yikes); and a phrase match result of 2,050,000 (double yikes).

What the heck?

I was thinking maybe I did something wrong. So, I went on to another keyword phrase:

‘how to loose stomach fat’ - In July this keyword had a traffic volume of 3600 (again in phrase match); all in title results of 325; and a phrase match search result of 6630.

Today I found this: traffic volume of 2900 (everything is fine); all in title of 328 (still good); phrase match result of 1,630,000 (huh?).

And this wasn’t an isolated instance, it happened to quite a few keywords…

By the way if you don’t know what all this means, don’t worry, just have a look at my keyword research videos here:

Super Simple Blogging - Keyword Research Tutorial

So now I’m wondering if it’s just something wrong in my end of the world or if everybody is starting to see similar results? If so, I think the way we do keyword research will have to change… and start looking at other factors besides phrase match volume and all in title results.

I think I’m Getting Hate Mail…

By Steven · Monday, July 20th, 2009 · 8 Comments »

video1bCan you believe it, I think I finally made it. :)

I recently released a series of videos about setting up profit pulling websites for fun and profit at SuperSimpleBlogging.com. It’s a work in progress but contains very detailed information about how anyone can setup profitable websites.

And specifically because of the content in these videos I’ve started to get hate mail.

So far I’ve gotten a couple of emails from people telling me to stop putting this kind of information up… for free. And curiously both were from relatively well-known marketers that frequents a rather
large IM forum…

Why?

Because, as one of them put it:

“It’s not right, people make a living off of selling this kind of  information”.

I guess I must be doing something right. :)

So in protest, I’m going to ask my readers for a favor…

1. Check out the videos I’ve put up so far;
2. If you like what you see simply help me get the word out about it!
3. Tweet it, share it on Facebook, in your favorite marketing forum or
what not.

And if you don’t think the information is good enough to share with others, please shoot me a comment below and let me know what I can do to actually make the content better!

Thanks,

CPA Ninja Review - Is It Really Worth $1000?

By Steven · Thursday, June 25th, 2009 · 6 Comments »

This is not the typical “review”… since I’m actually going to tell you my impressions of CPA Ninja based on having gone through the WHOLE COURSE. (You’ve probably seen offers from just about every major marketer by now… since this is the latest $1000 launch. Yet I have to wonder if any of these guys actually go through the whole course before they send out a promotion.)

CPA Ninja

3 out of 5 stars - I recommend Google Cash Detective: www.gcdetective.com (click the image above to go there)

In case you’re wondering, I actually purchased a pre-launch copy and went through the course about a month ago. I’m not offering any bonuses or anything so if you’re bonus hunting… you’re in the wrong place, but if you’re interested in an honest opinion of the product, keep reading…

Just so there’s no confusion, this is the offer we’re talking about: www.cpaninjas.com/vid2/ (this is their current squeeze page where you can get a short interview with Amish Shah - a multiple 7-figure affiliate marketer).

So let’s start with the CPA Ninja Review.

In a nutshell:

CPA Ninja is created by Matt Trainer and Marty Rozmanith, and as the title suggests, the course is about how to make money with CPA (cost per action) offers. Read the rest of this entry »

Trouble Finding Niches & Offers?

By Steven · Friday, June 19th, 2009 · No Comments »

Hey,

One of the most frequent questions that I hear is people having trouble finding suitable niches, keywords and even offers to promote.

I personally feel that the easiest way to find niches and offers is to simply use keyword modifiers in your query (just drop these into your favorite keyword tool).

Keyword Modifiers would be words like:

Cure
Get Rid Of
How To
Stop
Buy
etc.

Once you find some suitable niches with a decent amount of searches, just go to Google and search using each of these keywords and see what people are offering (using PPC).

I’ve just uploaded a video that explains how you do this along with a downloadable PDF about keyword modifiers here:

http://supersimplemarketing.com (no opt-in necessary)

I also show you a neat trick for checking a PPC ad’s staying power without using paid tools (like PPC Bully or Google Cash Detective).

Let me know what you think by dropping a comment below.

Enjoy!
